If you want to throw the hammer- Matilda

Sorry for the wait, however, I must warn people that I am going back to uni late next week so posting may become difficult at times depending on my workload, but as I am enjoying this, I will do my best to keep it up and post regularly! I thought that I would do Matilda next as this is another one from the last few years that I really enjoyed. July 2013, Cambridge Theatre, Matilda was played by Elise Blake, Bruce by Marcus May and Lavender by Ella Yard. We had no understudies for the performance. I'll start with the cast, as I do think that the children in these kind of shows deserve a lot of credit. Lots of the children in this show are aged 9-11 I think, which can put people off. However, the adults, especially the Trunchbull, have a lot of stage time compared to other shows with children and lead a lot of the scenes with children in. V & A theatre and performance gallery

I was talking to some people on Facebook recently who wanted to know about the theatre exhibition at the V & A Museum. I went in late August so it was relatively fresh in my mind still and I offered some comments on it. It got me thinking that it is quite relevant to this blog so I thought I'd do a quick post about what it is. I know there is a new exhibition now to celebrate the Olivier awards so this will have lots more things in it to do with theatre. However, it isn't permanent so I imagine they will change it back to being more like the one I saw and am writing about today when it finishes. I would love to go to the new one but I don't think I'll make it. If anyone does go let me know what it's like! Ticket Touts update and Hamilton ticket thoughts

Hey everyone, Just a quick update. We did email our MP Karen Bradley who is the Secretary of State for Culture, Sport and Media about the issue of ticket touts and the overpricing of tickets (which mentioned the day seats and lotteries which are good if you live near London or can afford to risk travelling down for the day, which most people can't due to travel costs etc.), companies like ticketmaster and how they deal with tickets and also the ridiculous fees that they charge, looking at you ATG (unless you get one of their stupid membership cards or can go to the theatre)! Surprisingly, she wrote an actual reply completely on our side! She said that it they are pricing people out and it is not fair. She has sent our letter to the Minister of State for Culture, Matthew Hancock MP so he can give us some comments and a full plan of action by his department on this issue.
